A trio of first-time directors are placing the finishing touches on the Bijou Theatre's latest production, 'Insert Laughs Here'.
The show comprising of three unique one-act plays will showcase a vibrant cast of budding thespians on March 27 and 28 and April 3 and 4.
About 50 people have been hard at work since January getting ready to bring each director's unique vision to life.
Katrina McAleese is directing 'The Breakup', written by Julia Cho, about a relationship between a mother and daughter.
Ms McAleese said the experience had been an "eye-opener" and she had enjoyed taking the reigns of a production after years as a cast member.
"Out of the theatre I am quite shy, but being here is like another home, there are so many different people and characters and you can just be yourself," she said.
Stanley Halls will direct 'Everything I Need to Know I Learnt by Being in a Bad Play'.
Mr Hall said he was excited to deliver a show that audiences would love.
"I've been involved in the theatre for several years now and we've always been a bit short on directors, so I put my money where my mouth is and said I'll have a go. It has been a big learning experience," he said.
Judy Barr is directing 'Mythomania', a story about a chronic liar meeting gullible people.
Ms Barr has already left her mark on many local productions through costume and makeup, and said she had loved working with the team to bring the new story from the script to the stage.
"A lot of us are artistically inclined so this is one way of expressing ourselves," she said.
