Esperance Senior Basketball Association teams shine at Country Week

Esperance Senior Basketball Association's brightest young players traveled to Perth on February 22 and 23 to compete in the Basketball WA Country Championships.

The Under 18 Girls team were undefeated across the entire weekend, taking out a 39-27 grand final win against Narrogin.

Jordan Major scored the Grand Final MVP honour and Ishah Powell was named the highest scorer across the division.

The Under 16 Girls team played their hearts out, with Chloe Seivwright, Romy Mackenzie and Shahn Waight delivering standout performances.

The Under 18 Boys started strong, winning their first three games. They fought hard, running fast breaks and shooting well with Kaden Brown and Ruben Wakeham recognised for their time on the court.

The Under 16 Boys team saw Aston Glew and Noah Morris shine, with Noah returning to compete after quick a trip to hospital when an opponent caused a cut to his head.

Travis Shearer also competed well against much larger opposition.
