It's time to reflect on the changes in Esperance, the faces and the fun that was being had 10 years ago this week.

Hundreds of children across the Esperance district dealt with mixed emotions as they began their first day of school for 2010.

Four long-serving members of the Esperance Fire and Rescue Service had their achievements recognised by the Minister for Emergency Services and Police Rob Johnson.

Brigade members Andy Wills, Neville Karger, Alan Sharpe and Captain Mick Rose each received long service awards, bestowed upon them by the visiting Minister and Fire and Emergency Services Authority regional director Gary Olson.

Toodyay fire victims received $1,500 from generous locals raised at Day in the Park organised by the Esperance Community Fundraising Committee.

The event featured the culinary delights of the Esperance Bay Rotary Club's sausage sizzle and the committee's famous donuts, made by Joyce Pearce and Carmel McEwan.
