There Goes the Sun kicks into action this Saturday, January 18, at The Cannery Arts Centre for its third consecutive year. With Dj Ace, Echo Run, Dr Yoshiro, Dr Tasty, Paige Valentine, James Abberley and Demi Vandenberghe all performing, this is a line-up for the live music lovers, for the crew that like a little bit of everything. Summer in Esperance has seen some epic gigs, and this one will be no exception.

Echo Run is set to be a highlight and will close the bands out for the evening with its high energy funked out rock and roll rhythms. Echo Run touched base with me earlier in the week and expressed its intention to donate its earnings for the night to Fire Relief. Prompted by the lads, Kyza Presents will be raffling off a 2020 double pass golden ticket, giving the holder entry to all Kyza Presents ticketed events for the year. Our aim is for proceeds to go towards the West Australian fire brigades instrumental in managing the Balladonia/Goldfields fires that saw the closure of the Eyre Highway. At the time of publication, there were 40 tickets left for the event. I can't be sure whether tickets remain available. But, if they are, you can find yours at

The Australia Day long weekend is just around the corner, and I'm sure a good deal of you will be looking to don your celebratory hats. There's plenty of cool music heading your way over the weekend. Join us on Friday, January 24, for the second of this Summer's Twilight Markets at The Esperance Museum Village. Bridgetown-based artist Tracey Barnett will be headlining the live music, accompanied by locals Laura Petrie and Josh Adam. Markets kick off at 5pm with market stalls, food stalls, village shops open and Lucky Bay Brewery serving up some fine beverages.

Sunday, January 26, sees the Rotary Club of Esperance deliver its yearly family fun event at the Adventureland Park. Kicking off early, the event sees a wide range of activities and live music, featuring Tracey Barnett, Kyron Smithson, Rachel Vibart and Bodes. Round off your Australia Day at Lucky Bay Brewery with an all local line-up featuring, Kyza, Bodes, Franzone and a secret performer yet to be named. We will be throwing down all sorts of acoustic tunes at the stunning new Lucky Bay Brewery venue. Absolutely stoked to be heading out there for the first time from 2pm on January 26.
