A new initiative launched this summer is using music and giant games to boost the buzz around town.
The eight-week 'Town Tunes' initiative. from the Shire of Esperanc,. runs every Friday between midday and 1pm at Post Office Square.
The events finish at the end of January.
Shire community development and events coordinator Shane Tobin said the shire wanted to liven up the town centre.
"There are lots of empty shops and businesses around here and we think music and games are the perfect ways to add a bit of vibrancy," Mr Tobin said.
"A lot of country towns are struggling with retail, so it's a way to bring back some energy."
Six local musicians are performing for locals and tourists over the course of Town Tunes.
Mr Tobin said the shire was considering moving the idea to the other locations such as the Whale Tail and Museum Village.
"If people are enjoying it, and we've had a lot of positive feedback, we might extend it a bit more and add a few more layers," he said.
The shire also plans to place the giant games along the foreshore when cruise ships are in town.
