It's our favourite time of the week, a chance to reflect on the changes in Esperance, the faces and the fun that was being had 10 years ago this week.

Four brave locals jumped out of a plane to raise funds for Teen Challenge. James Coleman, Amie Dobbs, Jodie McGill and Warren 'Wazza' Harvey skydived 10,000 feet to support a rehabilitation program to help others overcome drug addiction.

Two of Esperance's most loved teachers, Denis and Nola Smith bid farewell to the town. The pair were stalwarts of the Esperance community for many years with Mr Smith working for 30 years as a science teacher at Esperance Senior High School and Mrs Smith as a teacher at Esperance Primary School for 19 years.

Castletown Primary School won the primary school category of the 2009 Count Us In Awards for its program for students with disabilities.

Wongutha Christian Aboriginal Parent-Directed School ended an era when Steve Florisson finished his role as principal after 20 years.
