More than 200 seniors celebrated the beginning of the festive season at the Shire of Esperance's Senior Citizens Christmas Dinner on December 1.
The Esperance Civic Centre was abuzz with Christmas cheer as diners were waited on by shire staff, councillors and executives.
Continuing tradition, the two oldest people in the room cut the Christmas cake to kick off the evening.
The crowd were then treated to colourful entertainment, including a performance from the Esperance Primary School choir and carols led by Cr Jennifer Obourne.
To the crowds' delight, Shire president Ian Mickel introduced the new councillors as the 'class of 2019' dressed as his alter-ego Year 1 student 'Michael Lyons', before wishing the crowd a Merry Christmas.
Shire events and community development coordinator Shane Tobin thanked Apex for providing transportation, the Esperance Senior Citizens Centre, Civic Centre staff and Saltwater Catering.
