It's our favourite time of the week, a chance to reflect on the changes in Esperance, the faces and the fun that was being had 10 years ago this week.

Esperance accommodation and holiday park owners were celebrating with the majority of accommodation already booked out for the Christmas break.

Dedicated Nulsen Primary School teachers' aid Kath Thomas retired after 20 years of service.

Despite the effects of the global economic crisis, business in Esperance's retail sector were stronger than ever and Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive officer, Marcus Tromp, said things had certainly turned around for the town's small business owners.

About 40 local education assistants, school cleaners and gardeners went on a half-day strike in a bid for a higher pay rise.

Seniors took part in a glamour photo session by local photographer Marni Topping, who took 2000 photos of 70 seniors over a two-day period in celebration of Senior's Week.
