Alleged vandals have left thousands of dollars in damage to the Shire of Esperance's upgrades on the footpaths around the Dempster and Andrew Street roundabout.

On Wednesday evening, November 6, 2019, alleged vandals damaged wet cement.

A spokesperson for the Shire of Esperance said this had caused almost $10,000 in damages to the project.

The shire has reported the damage to police who are continuing their investigations.

To contact Esperance Police call 9079 8999.

Information can be reported anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1300 333 000.

Concreting work has since continued on the footpaths around the roundabout.

The damage has caused delays on the concreting work, resulting in panels having to be re-poured.

According to the shire, the Westpac Bank corner is expected to be finished by the end of next week. Work on the Bankwest corner will then start the week after.
