Four Junior Esperance Tennis Club players competed in another successful D'Arcy Slater and Foundation Cup in Geraldton from October 27 - 30.

Representing the South Coast Zone, the talented players faced off against 81 of the top regional players from across the state.

Emily Lawrance, Amie Kirchner, Maggie Wandel and Stella Wildberger shone over the four day tournament.

Emily proved her spirit and determination playing a grueling two hour match.

Cousins Maggie and Amie came face to face in the consolation final of the Girls Coral Coast Classic, with Maggie coming out on top with a 5:4, 4:2 win.

Stella was the standout winning the main womens event The Foundation Cup and ranked number one in the tournament.

Stella had ideal preparation leading into the tournament, playing for WA in The National Bruce Cup earlier in October, where she competed against the top 12 and under female players from across the country.

Stella and Holly Braddock from Dunsborough, will represent West Australia in The Judy Dalton Cup at Kooyong in Melbourne in January 2020 where they will play against the top country players in Australia.

Club spokesperson Ainslie Wildberger said it was wonderful to see the team meet and compete with other regional players.

"The girls performance and sportsmanship was outstanding and they certainly did Esperance Tennis Club proud," she said.
