A dedicated and friendly Ag & Trade employee has notched this month's Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry Customer Service Award.
Sales representative Fraser O'Brien earned the award for his consistently exceptional customer service, friendly attitude and willingness to 'go the extra mile'.
Mr O'Brien received the award on October 7 from Chamber executive officer Bronwyn McLeod.
He took up the job at Ag &Trade nearly six years ago to get out of doing night shift and to be closer to town.
Since then, Mr O'Brien has developed his skills at serving customers and helps farmers and tradies with even the most 'odd-ball' requests.
He said the award was a big surprise and thanked the person who nominated him. Mr O'Brien said he always aimed to do his job as well as he could and to keep the customers happy.
"When you're doing your job you don't think, 'I'm doing this to get an award', you just do it as well as you can to help the customer," he said.
"Most of the customers come in fairly regularly, so you get a decent relationship with them.
"Rather than just being at a lot of companies where it's just randoms all the time. At least you get to know them and build a relationship with them.
"I have good people I work with and good customers. So it makes it easy to get up and go to work everyday."
Mr O'Brien said winning the award was his biggest achievement over his six years at the job.
As a winner of the October award, he will now go into the running to win the Chamber's Customer Service of the Year Award.
