It's our favourite time of the week, a chance to reflect on the changes in Esperance, the faces and the fun that was being had 10 years ago this week.

Making headlines in September 2009 was a $1.5 million funding boost to the Esperance Residential College.

The funding from State Government helped improve and expand the facilities.

The money was used to provide an additional 12 student bedrooms and a new two-bedroom staff unit, boosting the number of separate bedrooms for senior students from 14 to 26.

Two transportable buildings, donated second-hand three years ago, were also replaced with the funding.

The funding also allowed for each of the two new student accommodation blocks to be self-contained, with a shared bathroom.
