More than 1,400 Horizon Power customers north and west of the Esperance town centre are without power this morning after a fault which occurred on the overhead power network about 7.25am.
It is understood that Gibson, Grass Patch, Lort River, Myrup, North Cascade, Salmon Gums, Scaddan, Munglinup, Coomalbidgup, Monjingup, Dalyup, Chadwick and Pink Lake have been affected by the outage.
A Horizon Power spokesperson told the Esperance Express that crews were patrolling the power lines to locate the fault.
At this stage, the cause of the fault is unknown, but may be have been weather-related, as the area has experienced strong, northerly winds.
Horizon Power apologised to the affected customers for the inconvenience and said it hoped to have the power restored as soon as possible.
