One of our region's biggest annual performing arts events is fast approaching its 48th year.

With generous financial support from this year's principal sponsor, Independence Group NL, the Esperance Music Festival (EMF) will again attract hundreds of participants and audience members from the Esperance and Goldfields region.

Running from Thursday, 22 August to Saturday, 24 August, it promises to be a wonderful showcase of local talent, featuring schools, soloists, and big band ensembles.

The festival welcomes participants of all ages and talents to have an opportunity to perform on stage, receive feedback from the adjudicator, and to potentially win some fantastic prizes, generously sponsored by the Australian Music Examinations Board.

Entry day will be at the Seventh Day Adventist Church hall on Foy Street from 10am-2pm on Sunday, 9 June, which is your opportunity to submit entries to the festival, and ask any questions you may have to EMF volunteers.

Here is your entry day checklist: make sure you complete an entry form, time your piece, and attach a photocopy of the music you are using to the entry form.

All performers are also required to complete the APRA/AMCOS (copyright) declaration form, and if you are performing in a group of more than three people, come up with a creative name for your group.

If you need assistance to complete any of these forms, which can be found at the back of the schedules, the friendly EMF volunteers will assist you on entry day.

Schedules are now available online through the Esperance Community Arts website, or from the Dempster St Newsagents.

If you cannot get your hands on one, there will be plenty of forms available on entry day. Any queries can be directed to our president via email: idmelbourne@westnet.com.au.

We look forward to welcoming your participation and attendance at this fabulous community event
