Esperance will host two regional football carnivals at Newtown Oval this weekend.

The women's regional carnival will be held Saturday, May 25 from 3pm.

Esperance will face off against a combined Kalgoorlie-Boulder and Kambalda team, then against Kalgoorlie City.

There will be a series of round robin matches between the three sides into the evening.

West Australian Football Commission Goldfields regional manager Gemma Harrison said she would use the carnival to officially select a women's side to travel to Perth for the July Landmark Championships.

The Zone Carnival will start from 8:30am on Sunday, May 26.

The carnival will see the best Year 9 and 10 players from the Goldfields Football League and the Esperance District Football Association compete.

This competition is open to both male and female junior players.

Ms Harrison said a representative team from the Year 10s from both leagues would travel to Perth in mid-July.

"This is a huge weekend for so many of our footballers, so it's very exciting," she said.

Ms Harrison thanked the Newtown-Condingup Football Club for volunteering with umpiring and canteen duties and for providing its clubhouse for the carnival.

"The club have always jumped at the opportunity to host our carnivals," she said.

Ms Harrison encouraged the public to come down and check out both carnivals.
