Its our favourite time of the week a chance to reflect on the changes in Esperance, the faces and the fun that was being had 10 years ago this week.

Making headlines in May of 2009, the Esperance Shire Council reclassified 50 hectares of land in Bandy Creek land from rural to special use to allow for a potential future canal development in the area.

The second and final shipment of lead left Esperance Port on May 4, 2009, bound for China - marking the end of the lead removal operation.

Lucy Vincent took out sports star of the week, after the 14-year-old took out first place in a horse riding event in Narrogin.

The Western Australian Farmers Federation announced they would oppose daylight savings as it was inconvenient for the agricultural industry.
