Esperance Soccer Season starts

Last Sunday saw the Esperance Soccer Association's winter season kick off with 28 teams competing across seven leagues as well as Mini Roos for four-year-old soccer fans.

What was a lovely sunny day for the start of the 2019 season saw a great turn from players and supporters.

Results: 7-8s Adelaide v Melbourne saw Melbourne win 5-2. Best players for were Reuel George from Adelaide and Harlem Moore from Melbourne. 7-8s Sydney v Newcastle drew 0-0.

9-11s Manchester v Chelsea drew 1-1 with Abner Roderick from Manchester and Zach Warren from Chelsea scoring 1 goal each.

Best players for Manchester were Jett Worth and Daniel Palmer. Best players for Chelsea were Ash Warren and Ruby Lecke.

12-13s EMAR United v Smith Family Glory with United winning 4-3.

Best players for United were Rydn Rae-Anthonysz with goals, Zach Hovingh and Bella Bayly.

14-16s Heasman & Associates City v Athletico saw City with the win 9-5.

Best players for City were Nawaphon Makin with 4 goals, Taya Srickland and Lachie Hovingh. Best players for Athletico were Lucan Tobin, Jeriah Rodericks and Conner Middleton.

In the first Seniors match of the round West Beach defeated Esperance and South Coast Mariners defeated Castletown.

The Womens season kicked off on Monday night with a great turn out. The teams combined for a full field 11-a-side scratch match. Hellfire/Whylie Bay won 4-3 against Twilight/Lucky Bay.
