The Buzz this Easter

The year is flying by! The Easter weekend will see the Esperance Triathlon Club hosting the Sunsmart Kids Triathlon at the foreshore on the Saturday. Kids aged 4-14 are encourage to come along for an 8:45am start. The Olympic Distance Triathlon takes place on Sunday, April 21, at the foreshore from 6am.

Check out the Growers Market at Nulsen Primary School this Saturday, April 20, from 9am-11am. Get some fresh local produce and crafts, reduce your food miles and support your local growers and makers this weekend. The Museum Village Markets continue on Sunday, April 21, with much to meander through and look at from 8:30am-12:30pm. Yirri Grove owner Anne O'Neill will be hosting a Community Olive Press. A unique busking session will take place at the Post Office Square from 10am-1pm, showcasing local talent and supported by our very own Youth Advisory Council. Esperance Jazz and Blues Club will be gracing the Loose Goose with its presence once again this Sunday, April 21, the perfect opportunity to sit, relax enjoy a meal whilst listening to some quality tunes. This family-friendly event runs from 5pm-8pm for $5 entry. Kickarts Holiday Program at the Cannery Arts Centre continues with numerous activities including Arty Arvos with local artist Esti and Naomi, ANZAC Metals and Clay Poppies and Pottery Wheel from April 16-28. Book to secure your place now! The Anzac Day Dawn Service begins from 6am at Memorial Park, with the main service to commence from 11am.

A huge month of May for the Esperance Civic Centre with five opportunities for entertainment including Possum Magic, The Purple People Show by Zap Circus, Toni Childs, A Taste of Ireland, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and The Big HOO HAA starting on April 2. In the style of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway?' and 'Thank God You're Here', The Big HOO-HAA! sees two teams of comedians take the stage to do battle in a competition of wit, humour and bad mime skills. It's a no-holds-barred race to the punch line. An interactive show that uses audience suggestions to create improvised comedy sketches.
