Esperance Detectives have established a CCTV initiative with Esperance Communications after identifying limited video surveillance in the region during recent burglary investigations.

The initiative was prompted by a rise in burglary offences throughout Esperance, West Beach, Nulsen and Sinclair over the last six weeks.

Esperance Detective sergeant Simone Taplin said the initiative would involve heavily discounted CCTV packages to help address the issue and deter offenders.

"A picture tells a 1000 words and can have a huge impact on an investigation, it can also make criminals think twice in targeting that location," she said.

"With the recent spike in Burglaries and the Armed Robbery, it has been identified that there is limited CCTV within the sub district of Esperance.

"As a result, Esperance Detectives and Esperance Communications have come up with a joint initiative to address the issue and keep the community safe.

"Esperance Communications are offering a heavily discounted rate on a number of CCTV packages, which range from $149 with a simple WIFI set up to $1599 for a decent CCTV system.

"This price includes full installation.

"We have asked them to use high quality cameras to ensure community members receive value for their dollar."
