The MCD Contracting Esperance Speedway will be starting in Twilight this Saturday (April 13) for the final meeting of the 2018/2019 season.
With racing starting at 4pm The Twilight Family Fun night will feature South East Open Championships for both Juniors and Street Stocks, support form Productions Sedans and Burnouts with the smash and crash of the annual demo derby to finish off the season.
Last meeting at the MCD Contracting Esperance Speedway Team Esperance drivers rallied together to claim the overall series win against the Kalgoorlie International Speedway. Kalgoorlie took out round two however it was Esperance who finished in top position for overall points across both rounds of the 2018/2019 Esperance V Kalgoorlie Challenge!
It came right down to the wire in the end as various challenging contests all night between local and visiting drivers capped off a fantastic series of racing between two proud clubs.
It was one of the closest finishes in recent memory as Esperance scraped over Kalgoorlie by just 133 points.
The J & N Dickerson Fabrication Production Sedans are back in action and will be fighting it out for the last points on offer for season 18/19.
Sean Barrett will look to continue his impressive late season form while Josh Macalpine will be hoping results go his way as the race for points at the top is heating up.
Also in the hunt will be Josh Stewart, Tye Tyrell and Blake Fletcher who are in the mix for a place on the point's leader board.
The Esperance Outdoor Power Equipment Street Stocks will be back in action this Saturday with the South East Open Championship on the line. Linton Dickerson fresh from an encouraging run at Collie Speedway on the weekend is likely to take it up to perennial favourite Zane Humphrys. Dylan Williams will pilot his XF for the last time as rumours of a later model falcon making an appearance next season are surfacing.
Wade Rigney will be among the action and Gary Leeson returns for a cameo this weekend driving the Barrett family #9 commodore.
The New Era Shearing Junior Sedans will also be racing for their South East Open Championship this Saturday. Hayden Mortimer will go in as favourite after an impressive showing in the Kalgoorlie Esperance Challenge last time out.
Team Brown drivers Cameron, Kaden and Logan are always a threat on their home track and will at the pointy end in the feature race.
Improving consistently in their first season Team Dicko drivers Chris and Hayley Dickerson will be back in action this Saturday.
Newcomers Charlie Tate and Sean Kirwan will keen to do some more laps and finish off season 18/19 well.
The Esperance Combined Tyre and Mechanical Burnout Division are back this Saturday with a strong field ready to shred some rubber on the Esperance Speedway Pad.
Most of the competitors ventured to Kalgoorlie for an event with local Jaydon Hurst unlucky to pick up a place. Zak Swann, Luke O'Shannessy, Sheehan Varney and Shannon Anthony are certain to put on a show for the crowd.
