Esperance community members, businesses and clubs are being urged to jump on board and take charge of a 24 hour Dance-athon in support of the McGrath Foundation.

The Civic Centre has already been booked for the event from Saturday and Sunday, October 26 and 27.

Shire of Esperance community development and events coordinator Shane Tobin said the event would be an extension of 2018's Pink Up Your Town campaign.

The 'Pink Up Your Town' campaign increases breast cancer awareness and helps fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses across the country.

"The main focus would be to have a fun community event designed to connect all areas of our community, while raising a few dollars for a fantastic cause," Mr Tobin said.

Potential ideas for the event include, 24 hours of dancing, having a new music theme each hour and having children- only and adult-only time-slots.

Anyone wishing to get involved or to provide feedback is asked to contact Mr Tobin on 0418 557 397 or email Shane.Tobin@esperance.wa.gov.au.
