Preparations have officially begun for the 10th Light Horse Esperance Troop's involvement in ANZAC Day 2019.
The troop held a training and assessment day at the Esperance Showgrounds on Sunday, March 10.
Troop president Scott Lawrence said the horses performed really well and the group was looking forward to ANZAC Day.
"We will have a presence at the dawn service and then we will be taking part in the march," he said.
Mr Lawrence said local Light Horse troops were important to help preserve history.
"We need to keep the history for everyone so that we are aware of what happened and why," he said.
"Seeing it out in the public eye at ANZAC Day, Remembrance Day and other events is definitely a good way for people to physically see it rather than just reading about it."
The troop is still welcoming more members to get involved.
"Anyone who has an interest in horses, or the Light Horse in particular, by all means come on down and catch up with us," Mr Lawrence said.
Another training and assessment day will be held at a date yet to be determined.
