It’s our favourite time of the week – a chance to reflect on the changes in Esperance, the faces and the fun that was being had 10 years ago this week.

It was Royalties for Regions funding that was making headlines in February 2009, after Esperance received $1.6 million from the first round of the funding scheme.

The Esperance Tanker Jetty and the Greater Sports Ground were among the projects council considered putting the funding towards.

The aftermath of the BHP run Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation closure continued, as homeowners in Ravensthorpe and Hopetoun saw their property prices fall considerably.

The Old Hospital building, built in 1896, left William Street to be positioned in the Museum Village.

Esperance employees sent two sea containers filled with items to aid victims of the Victorian bushfire.

Jack Adams was awarded Sports Star of the Week for his efforts in soccer, basketball, rugby and cricket.
