Esperance Skatepark will remain closed until Monday, February 18, after varying weather conditions affected the reseal works undertaken on the skatepark’s surface.
The precinct closed to the public on Monday, February 11, and was due to reopen on Friday, February 15.
The Shire of Esperance have said the reseal was being undertaken for the benefit of users and would ensure the skatepark’s quality and longevity.
The shire have asked that the public respect the temporary closure and refrain from entering the site during this time.
Contact with the skating surface whilst the reseal is underway is likely to cause damage.
The skatepark, designed by Convic, opened in late 2016 after more than two years worth of planning.
The park was an extension of the Esperance Foreshore redevelopment and received funding from the Department of Regional Development, Lotterywest and Tourism WA.
