NAB Esperance Customer advisor Gemma Saillard has been awarded the Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Customer Service of the Month Award for January – something she said came as a ‘big shock’.

Ms Saillard took on the role of NAB Customer advisor at the Esperance branch more than two years ago, drawn to the company by their business philosophy and customer focus.

Since then, Ms Saillard said her time with NAB had been about taking care of her customers and looking beyond just the financial side of the business.

“I think it’s nice to be able to see a range of different people and help them out as best I can so that I can hopefully make their lives a little easier,” she said.

“I would say the most rewarding part about this role has been being able to meet all of the customers – looking at more than just the financial side of things.”

Ms Saillard was nominated for her excellent customer service, receiving two nominations in one week for greeting her customers with a smile and taking great care to ensure everything was correct.

“She was absolutely amazing,” the nominator said.

“I walked into NAB and Gemma greeted me with a smile, happy to help.

“Five minutes later I walked out having signed the paperwork.

“She then called to let me know the foreign currency had arrived.

“I went to pick it up and again were greeted with a smile, she was happy to see me, happy personality and great service in making sure everything was correct.”

After being presented with the award on Tuesday morning, February 12, Ms Saillard extended thanks to her customers.

“I just want to thank all of my customers for being so friendly and lovely to deal with everyday,” she said.
