It’s our favourite time of the week – a chance to reflect on the changes in Esperance, the faces and the fun that was being had 10 years ago this week.
The January 30, 2009 edition covered the closure of Merivale Road after it was washed out by heavy rainfall that flooded a number of areas around Esperance.
The first February edition for 2009 saw fears that the closure of the Ravensthorpe Nickel Operation would impact the chances of the redevelopment of the Esperance Residential College.
Reports surfaced that the College was seriously overcrowded and in dire need of an upgrade.
The once bare courtyard at the Esperance Aged Care Facility was transformed into a peaceful green garden after former employee Lorrie Liddelow organised and coordinated the development project.
