Australia Day brings many a barbecue, the Esperance Swim Thru and the Family Fun Day event.

The annual Esperance Swim Thru is a 2.5km Open Water Swim. Race briefing will begin at 7.30am, for an 8am start.

The event is open to competent swimmers over the age of 14 who must be able to complete the course in less than 1 hour and 15 minutes.

The Rotary Family Fun Day event will follow at Adventureland Park from 9am until 2pm, with activities for the whole family to enjoy, live local music, displays, markets and food and novelty races.

The event will conclude with an awards ceremony for the Citizens of the Year. Come down, soak up the sun and be entertained by local musicians Emily Altieri, Kyron Smithson, Laurie Petrie, Campbell Garratt and the Esperance Brass Band.

Moving Movies at the Sound Shell will present you its last January screening this Saturday 26, with the movie Australian Red Dog.

The Cannery Arts Centre also offer a screening of ‘Blue’ the Film on January 31 at 7pm.

Get some fresh local produce, help reduce food miles and grab a plant or two, delicious preserves and crafts from the Esperance Growers Market – held once a fortnight on Saturday mornings from 9-11am, January 26 and February 9. Grab a bite to eat on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning.
