Esperance Junior Fire Brigade prove themselves at State Championships

The Esperance Junior Fire Brigade have proven themselves once again at the WA State Junior Fire Brigade Championships held in Fremantle on Saturday, November 24 and Sunday, November 25.

The Brigade gained first place in the Junior section of the competition and came in second place in the overall Champion Brigade section behind winners Harvey. 

Aden Close was equal Champion Fireman with Body Miller from Geraldton in a close fought tie. 

Harley Cullen from Coolgardie won Champion Sub Junior Fireman winning all his events.

Joy Ferguson came second in the female sprint and Reggie Stacey came second in the male sprint. 

The Brigade also gained a history making second place behind Coolgardie by half a point in the Discipline and marching event

The 16 event program was hotly contested by the 14 brigades with 43 teams competing for the Champion State Brigade title.

Coaches Brian Willoughby, Harry Moir and assistant coach Tony Willoughby were thrilled with the way the teams competed and the sportsmanship and teamwork displayed.
