More than 120 of the town’s dedicated volunteers have attended a special breakfast hosted by the Esperance Volunteer Resource Centre to celebrate International Volunteer Day on Wednesday morning, December 5.
The ‘2018 Thank a Volunteer Day’ breakfast at the Whale Tail saw members of the Esperance Shire Council and Shire staff serving breakfast, tea and coffee to give back to those who volunteer their time to help others.
Those in attendance commended the Esperance Volunteer Resource Centre and the Shire of Esperance for the breakfast function and said it had been an enjoyable morning.
Volunteering Minister Mick Murray said volunteers were the backbone of our communities and the value of their work, commitment and passion could not be underestimated.
The ‘Thank a Volunteer Day’ event is funded by the state government through the Department of Communities.
