Ravensthorpe Tennis Club have been awarded a $4000 sporting grant from Community TAB of Racing and Wagering WA after being selected from more 300 clubs across the state.

The Club’s president Helen Burton said the club were greatly appreciative of the grant which would provide the opportunity to host a professional coach on a regular basis.

“Ravensthorpe Tennis Club provides a regular summer sporting and social opportunity for all ages and abilities, and our membership numbers and the local interest in tennis has already grown significantly,” she said.

“We have a very keen group of kids who want to improve their skills, and we have never had a professional coach attend our club on a weekly basis, so the grant will make this opportunity more affordable for us.”

Racing and Wagering WA chief executive officer Richard Burt said the organisation understood the time and resources required to keep a club running and were pleased to help relieve that burden.

Community TAB provide a grant to a community sporting club on a monthly basis.
