Esperance residents have been reminded to ensure they are ready for the upcoming bushfire season.
The Esperance Shire has said all owners and occupiers of land within the shire were required to clear or maintain firebreaks by October 1.
The shire said rangers would pay particular attention to the maintenance of firebreaks and aimed to inspect them all before the fire season began.
Infringements can be issued to landowners who do not comply with regulations.
Owners and occupiers are also required to clear and maintain their property during the specified fire danger period.
This period is currently from October 1 to March 31 (note: burning periods are subject to change).
Residents who fail to comply with fire safety directions may be issued with infringements.
