Members of the Esperance Mechanical Restoration Group are preparing for their annual ‘Keep your sausage sizzling’ fundraiser.

The event raises awareness for prostate cancer and raises funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Group president Dave Ovans said the event had been held for the last nine years.

“It’s the second biggest killer in men and when you get to our age you start worrying about it,” he said.

“It will be an open shed day, people can come down and have a sausage sizzle and look at all of our machinery on display.”

The sausage sizzle will be held at the Restoration Group’s sheds on McLean Road from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Sunday, September 23.

Mr Ovans expressed “many thanks” to Castletown Chemist for donating raffles to raise funds and to Woolworths Esperance and the French Bakery for donations towards the sausage sizzle.
