The Shire of Esperance have officially announced the installation of a free, high speed WiFi network for the Esperance community as part of a two-year trial via the National Broadband Network.
Those in the town centre can access the free connection along the foreshore between the Whale Tail and the Skate Park, along James and Andrew Streets between the Esplanade and Dempster Street.
It is understood the shire have worked with Goldfields Esperance Development Commission and the Esperance Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the planning of this project, with funding from Royalties for Regions as part of the Supertowns program.
Those who connect will have access to a two-hour session and site restrictions and download limits will apply.
Shire President Victoria Brown said it was a fantastic way to encourage people to spend more time in the Esperance town centre.
“You can capture your fantastic photos and share them online straight away too,” she said.
