Over 30 volunteers attended workshops focused on national standards and recruitment.
Sessions were held at the Esperance Civic Centre on Wednesday, August 29 and Thursday, August 30.
Members from various organisations attended including the SES, Esperance Care Services and Esperance Home Care.
Volunteering WA manager of training and development Gilda Davies said organisations that aimed to recruit younger people needed younger voices.
“Always get a younger person involved,” she said.
“There are differences between the generations and we need to understand those differences.”
Esperance Volunteer Resource Centre coordinator Erica Austen said there were younger volunteers in Esperance who just needed to have the opportunities shown to them.
“We need to remove unseen barriers,” she said.
Ms Austen said it was great to have Volunteering WA come down to support local organisations.
