Esperance crash, 16 year-old dies after Monjingup crash

UPDATE: St John Ambulance community paramedic Paul Gaughan confirmed an 18 year-old female was also injured and taken to Esperance Hospital. The patient was in a stable condition. 

Major Crash officers are investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred in Monjingup, approximately nine kilometres north of Esperance on Saturday 11 August 2018.

At around 1:30am, a vehicle travelling along Davis Road struck a group of pedestrians resulting in a 16- year-old girl receiving critical injuries.

She was taken to Esperance Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

A 19-year-old male is assisting police with their inquiries and Major Crash officers are investigating if speed was a factor.
