Esperance Crisis Accommodation Service held an open day at Lachie’s House to show the community the services they provide and to promote awareness around homelessness.
The open day was held on Thursday, August 9 during Homelessness Week between August 6 and 12.
Crisis Accommodation support worker Cylie Smith-Ryan said it was good to see locals as well as service providers attend the event.
“We are very happy with the turnout,” she said.
“The more people who know what we do the better and it is and it is Homelessness Week so it’s good to promote awareness.”
Lachie’s House accommodates men, women and children.
The service also runs Mara House which provides a refuge for women with or without children facing family violence.
