Netball WA representatives travelled to Esperance to scout for rising netball stars and promote netball to a wider range of people in the community.
The representatives introduced ‘Fast Five’, a quickly-paced version of netball.
Netball WA Fast Five participation coordinator Sarah Pride said the game was a new form of netball.
“We have come down here to show people what the game is all about, introduce it into regional towns and see if people liked it,” she said.
The game played with only five players on each team, instead of the usual seven.
Fast Five is designed to be less competitive and can be played with mixed teams.
Two official games were held on Saturday, August 4 at the Indoor Sports Stadium.
‘The Rebels’ defeated the ‘Hoffy Squashies’ 20-10, while ‘TNT’ defeated ‘All Sorts’ 32-18.
