These cold days inside believe it or not have had a motivating impact upon my creativity.
I’m on the verge of having written four new songs over the past two weeks which is rather substantial and personally unheard of. Great variation exists within the subject matter though you can certainly hear the cold bleeding through. Do other people feel this motivation to be creative during winter? Are we trapped inside and therefore driven to put pen to paper, brush to canvas, yarn to needle.
Probably the latter may be the most advantageous of all, the ability to make your own super funky extra warm beanies and socks would be advantageous especially in comparison to a simple song that surely has no standing when it comes to warding of these frigid winds.
If someone would like to trade a beanie and socks set (preferably blue with light touch of green) for one or two fresh melodies I’m all ears.
Zoning out in front of the TV takes on an interesting dimension if you’re guitar rest at hand. Original melodies and riffs mindlessly drawn forth have the potential to reflect the mood of the movie or show flickering in the background. Murderous prime time villains give rise to ominous guitar sounds lyrics inevitable flow in the same direction.
If you find yourself knitting and watching a horror movie do you only use red wool?
Ah, it’s all fun and games, I must say I love writing excerpts such as that above.
I’m not sure how the reader finds it, and I can only hope it gives you a bit of a chuckle.
