Restore Hope Foundation Esperance is calling on workplaces to kick their bosses out into the street for a good cause.
The soup kitchen is hosting a Sleep Out on Friday, August 10 at the Esperance Soundshell.
Businesses must raise a minimum of $500 from colleagues and customers for their boss to join the Sleep Out with all funds raised going towards Restore Hope.
Restore Hope Kitchen board member Ben Pratt said having bosses sleep out began last year.
“In past years people had nominated themselves and raised as much money as they could,” he said.
“Last year I came up with the idea to make it more fun to bring it into the workplace, which also brings a public spotlight.”
Mr Pratt said the kitchen aimed to raise as much money as possible for their van.
“We have got our passenger van and it’s looking like we are going to need to retire that very soon,” he said.
“We are paying too much in repair and maintenance costs.”
Mr Pratt said he hoped the event would spread by word of mouth with several businesses already on board.
“You’re not going to be doing it by yourself, there are other businesses there which makes it more comfortable for the bosses,” he said.
Restore Hope has a client list of around 80 households and delivers food to people who are unable to travel.
The foundation recently benefited from a community grant of $1000.
“We are very happy to receive some money from the shire with the community grants,” Mr Pratt said.
“That really helps with servicing the vans and purchasing some new tires that were desperately needed.”
