Esperance Police and detectives charge man over stabbing

Esperance Police and detectives have charged a 34-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed a woman in the head on Friday, June 8.

Police were called to an address in Nulsen around 3am on June 8 in relation to a suspected family violence incident.

On arrival, police located an injured woman with stab wounds to the head and an injured hand.

Shortly after, police arrested a 34-year-old man at a separate address in relation to the incident.

It is understood the man is known to the victim.

The man was charged with an Act likely to endanger health, life or safety and Breach of protective bail.

The man was remanded in custody and appeared in Esperance Magistrates Court on the following day.

The woman was later taken to Esperance Hospital to be treated for several lacerations to the scalp and a broken hand.
