Does everyone’s mood change with the temperature?
I have no doubt that as these cold, cold nights hit my motivation, excitability and general interest in life begins to wane.
In this moment, I am struggling to concentrate.
I have an insistent thought driving its way into my psyche and it may come as no surprise that it is far from positive.
Depression’s cold embrace stares at me from the shadows of multiple thoughts that we tag as negative, and down, down, down I go.
Last night, I had a small epiphany.
It had something to do with the management of mental illness and the need to just keep moving, something to do with acknowledging something's existence and absorbing it and allowing it to become something else, something positive.
That may seem a little confusing, though if I can offer anyone experiencing a less than elevated mood any advice it would be to just keep moving, don’t allow yourself to procrastinate, Momma Sed This Too Shall Pass (search that).

So, on a more straightforward note, as is the norm with this time of year, everything in Esperance tends to slow dramatically.
Gigs become few and far between.
Though as of today there are a couple on the horizon.
If you’re looking for tasty beverages and catchy tunes this coming Saturday, June 9, head on down to the Esperance Motor Hotel from 8.30pm to catch the Tipsy Jipsys supported by Campbell Garratt.
On Saturday, June 16th, The Esperance Motor Hotel sees Rach Vibart and myself throwing down some acoustic tracks.
The night is set to be finished off by Perth DJ FunKnight, also known as Chad Cooper, spinning out some sick beats.
