Absolutely wrapped to make it down to the second instalment of the Esperance Jazz and Blues club at the Loose Goose last Sunday.

On entry, I was greeted by a fantastic crowd intent on catching tunes performed by a revolving cast of quality local musicians.

Dean Haitani a brilliant songwriter and guitarist was also in attendance becoming the first touring musician to perform in the line-up.

The evenings format is driven by the idea of inclusion with various singers and musicians performing across the session.

Potential contributors are encouraged to contact the jazz club and register their interest and advise them of the songs they wish to perform.

This is not essential though will allow regular musicians to familiarise themselves with particular compositions.

The Esperance Jazz and Blues Club perform the third Sunday of each month at the Loose Goose, a thoroughly recommended evening.

Ash Grunwald is just around the corner on Friday May 25th fom 6pm at The Cannery Arts Centre and upon writing this column on May 21, ticket sales were already 75 per cent sold.

If the current trend has remained steady, it is quite likely the tickets will have sold out.

Local support has been outstanding and I would love to thank G.J. Gardner Homes and Wells Building Designers and Consultants for sponsoring the event.

The Cannery Arts Centre continues to deliver as a highly versatile live music venue.

Its ability to evolve and offer differing experiences across diverse arts mediums has been fantastic to see.

Ash Grunwald is a high calibre artist with some amazing credits to his name, his performance at The Cannery pushes the boundaries of the venue and opens up exciting possibilities for artists of a similar calibre.

The Esperance music scene moves from strength to strength, and this would not be possible without an absolutely amazing audience who are willing to get along and support week in week out.

Whether it’s an open mic, local show, Esperance Jazz and Blues Club Session or a high calibre act such as Grunwald your support does not go without notice, thank you so much.
