Applications for this year’s Community Grants Program are now open, after Council resolved to endorse the Program guidelines on February 27.
Allocations for the program will be decided by Council following the adoption of the 2018 to 2019 Budget.
Shire President Victoria Brown said the program was important for local groups, sporting clubs and organisations, and the calibre of previous projects supported had been very significant.
“The Community Grants Program allows Council to help community groups in need of financial assistance, and we recognise these groups play a crucial role for people living in Esperance,” she said.
There will be an information session in Council Chambers on March 15 from 5:30pm to 6:30pm to provide additional information.
Applications for the Assistance, Development and Events categories are now open until April 30, 2018, and recipients will be decided in June of 2018.
In 2017, a total of $150,000 was allocated to 17 different community projects.
