Esperance shire seeks youth voice at food and music event.

Positions are now open for young people who want to bring their perspective to the council.

The Esperance Youth Advisory Council is holding an event for locals aged 15 to 25 years, including free pizza and drinks.

The event will be held on Friday February 9, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at the Civic Centre.

Community and economic development manager Trevor Ayres said the YAC connects young people to council.

“The idea is bring a group of young people together to show them what the Youth Advisory Council is all about and what a collected group of young people can achieve,” he said

“The role of the Youth Advisory Council is to provide a connection between Council and young people in our community which will help the Shire plan for their current and future needs.”

Free pizza and drinks will be provided and local musician Campbell Garratt will play an acoustic set.

Mr Garratt said his music has a ‘bluesy roots kind of vibe’ and was excited to perform at the event.
