Esperance teenager crashes car into tree

A car full of teenagers received minor injuries after the 17-year-old P-plate driver crashed into a tree over the weekend.

Esperance Police allege that around 8.45pm on Saturday, November 25 the 17-year-old was allegedly driving the Hyundai Lantra at excessive speed on Longbottom Lane near Pink Lake Road.

The driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle, losing traction at the apex of the corner before colliding with the tree.

Fortunately, all five people were wearing their seat belts but suffered minor injuries involving neck strains and chest pain consistent with sudden impact.

Emergency services attended the crash and transported the teenagers to Esperance Hospital.

Esperance Police are still investigating the crash but believe alcohol was not a factor.
