Esperance Veteran Car Club organise joint events with community groups

The Esperance Veteran Car Club have been keeping busy since their 2650km round trip for 2017 Rally West in Geraldton.

On October 6, the Esperance Home Care men’s BBQ group paid the club a visit for morning tea, followed by a vintage car ride and a BBQ lunch.

Sixteen Home Care members and carers joined 25 car club members with plenty of vintage cars to choose from.

Car club secretary Merle Hanks said it was a very satisfying day for both clubs.

“It always creates a lot of interest as the older gents remember their own cars or mum and dads cars,” she said.

“We are a community based club and could be available for other like minded clubs if time permits.”

The Veteran Car Club had another outing late last month when they took 22 Esperance Probus Club members out to Gibson Soak for lunch, in a variety of vintage cars.

Ms Hanks said a total of 47 people attended the event on September 25, in cars ranging from a 1951 Riley to a Chevrolet Camaro.

“Once everyone was settled in the cars of their choice we travelled to Gibson for a wonderful lunch and then returned back to RSL Park,” she said.

“An enjoyable day for all and recommended to any club.”
