Honestly, I’m over this cold drab and motivation robbing weather. If only it could rain just enough to water my garden then make a hasty retreat that would be absolute gold. Damn, I’ve been getting some fantastic tomatoes’ off the vine though, so I guess that’s a clear and bonus of Esperance weather. Looking like the weekend weather is going to be superb though which brings a smile to my face as Sunday October 1 will see the launch of Sunday Sessions at Taylor St Quarters. What a fantastic lineup we have in store. Michael Dunstan, Luke Fox and Ben Catley make their way down from Perth to ignite live music at Taylors with a bang. These three are absolute class. Michael Dunstan has regularly played in Esperance creating a strong local following. His recent album Solace is gold. If you want to hear a man play guitar like you wish you could, Michael is your guy. Luke Fox won the triple J Unearthed slot to perform at Groovin the Moo this year, his tune devotion to the ocean has over 32000 views on YouTube, I don’t think much else needs to be said. Ben Catley is a classy blues man with a foot stomping sound and admirable stage presence that will get you up and dancing. Recently returned from performing at Lindisfarne festival in England and with new track Strong Hands released through Spotify and YouTube, Catley is riding high. It’s going to be amazing. See you all at Taylor's on Sunday October 1 from 4pm. If you’re looking for some casual Friday afternoon drinks, Tom Clark will be playing tunes at Taylor St Quarters this Friday from 5pm-7pm, coinciding with the venues happy hour. Larissa played this slot last week and created a great vibe. I can’t imagine being anywhere else on a Friday afternoon. I’m happy to announce that Forage and KyzaPresents will be holding one at the Forage building within the Cannery Arts Centre grounds on Friday October 6 from 6.30 pm. Backline and a drum kit will be provided, the event is $5 with kids under 16 free. Byo food, beverages and instruments. Saturday the 7th of October sees three great acoustic acts take to the stage at the Esperance motor hotel from 8.30pm featuring Josh Thomas, Hopetoun lass Bec Sexton and travelling artist Molly Mitchell all the way from Warnambool. Head on down for a beverage and great tunes.
