Stereo theft leads to assault in Esperance

Police are looking for a man who stole a stereo system and assaulted the owner when he was confronted on Foy Street in the early hours of Monday morning, June 12.

The man allegedly tried to steal the system and speakers from a couples’ porch when the victim’s wife said she heard a noise outside.

After checking outside the victim found the man carrying the speakers and approached him.

The man allegedly threw the speakers at the victim, causing a small cut to his hand.

He is described as around 183cm tall in his 20s, fair skinned, with a beard, wearing dark trousers and a jumper. 

He was possibly riding a large mountain bike later that night, which was recovered on Monday afternoon from a house on Foy Street.
