Police have seized five kilograms of cannabis, with a street value of $20,000, after stopping a vehicle for speeding on Coolgardie-Esperance Highway on Wednesday, March 15.
Kambalda police officer-in-charge sergeant Dave Ball said officers pulled the car over for allegedly doing 120km/h in a 110 zone, 10 kilometers south of the Widgiemooltha Roadhouse.
He said officers found a bag filled with sealed packages of cannabis after searching the car and the two people in it.
“It is a significant find in that it is a trafficable amount,” he said.
Sergeant Ball said police also found three grams of meth hidden in a cigarette holder after the car was taken back to Kambalda Police Station.
A 43-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man from Mount Barker were charged with possession with intent to sell and other drug offences.
Both offenders were due to appear at Kalgoorlie Magistrates Court on Thursday, March 16.
