The League match between Esperance Bulldogs and Newtown-Condingup Lions last weekend saw the Bulldogs dominate at their home ground.

Ryan Neill for Esperance kicked eight goals.

A couple of their best players were Chris Harding, Damien Wood and Ryan Neill

Newtown-Condingup’s best players were Brayden Barker and Jordan Florrison.

The game was relatively evenly contested until half time, when the Bulldog ran away with the ball.

Esperance dominated the game in the second half with some top players giving their all in the match.

The Bulldogs were kicking straight and towards the end of the game they were about 18 goals 4 points.

Jordan Florrisson on Ryan Neil was an interesting battle.

Neil kicked a bag of goals but Florrisson gave his all in defending the forward.

Newtown-Condingup will take on ladder leaders Gibson on Saturday in Condingup.

Lions vice-president Nathan lang said the team was looking forward to it.

“We’ll see how the boys go,” he said.

“It’s our fist game of the year out at Condi.

“They’ve beat us two times we played them.”

Well done to the league players.

We won but still have a long way to go.

Better players were Ryan Neil, Woody, Roger, Woody Jnr and Ethan.

The reserves put up a good fight but could not get over the line.

“Good to see Ryan back to his best kicking 8 sausage rolls and Shannon down having a game with his mates,” the Bulldogs’ Facebook page said.

This week the Esperance Bulldogs will play at home to Ports for the Indigenous round.

This round will be the first Indigenous round in the history of the Esperance District Football Association.

With a jumper designed by local teen Vincent Graham, the Bulldogs will take to the field with pride, wearing designs inspired by the local environment and Aboriginal heritage.

Also this weekend Gibson Tigers will take on Newtown-Condingup.
